Registration fees for Marriages reduced to Rs 1000/-

The registration fees for marriages which was fixed at Rs 5000/- has been reduced to Rs 1000/-The related act in this regard is to be amended.

This proposal has been made by the Minister Joseph Micheal Perera which received the approval of the cabinet.

It is learnt that this reduction is effective from the 16th March this year.
