Mattala International Airport to be made as training centre
The Mattala International Airport is to be made as the first south
Asian training centre for aviation activities.
The Minister of civil aviation Reginald Cooray had quipped that all arrangements are been finalised to make the Mattala international Airport, a training centre for aviation activities.
Accordingly pilots, aviation officers and controllers of air traffic are to be trained. The developmental activities in this regard are already been made.
In addition it is learnt that more activities like aircraft repairs, servicing of aircrafts units and other units pertaining to the airline industries are to be constructed.
It is also learnt a duty free zone near to the Mattala international airport is also to be opened. The activities of the proposed training centre would not be given to India or any other country was stated by the Minister Reginald Cooray.
The intention is to attract the tourists who are visiting India for our benfit.In this context the Mattala International airport would never be close as suggested earlier the Minister had quipped.
