Entrance roads to Mattala International Airport used for drying pepper
The Mattala International Airport was constructed at a cost of millions of rupees. Unfortunately it is now reported that the entrance roads to this International Airport as they are not been used have been deployed by some people to dry their stocks of pepper.
It is reported that for this exercise container loads of pepper weighing many kilos of pepper are transported by businessmen in Middeniya and Hakmana and use these roads for drying them under the intense sun.
It is learnt that a kilo of dry pepper is sold these days at an enhanced higher price as rupees three thousand.
