Colombo High Court Judge Mrs. Kusala Sarojini
Weerawardena today (15) ordered former Minister Mr. Basil Rajapaksa to be released on bail. The High Court Judge so issued instructions to release the former Minister who was taken into custody over an issue regarding financial irregularities that took place at Divi Neguma Department and also the 3 individuals including the former secretary of the Ministry of Economic Development.
They were released on a cash bail of 1 lakh rupees and 4 sureties of Rs. 1 million. The Judge further ordered that the passport of the suspects be impounded and that they should report to Kurunduwatta Police on the last Sunday of every month.
