The consumer products authority has brought in new rules to persons dealing in car sales, lands
and properties to display selling prices legibly for public to view. This has been made compulsory in terms of the consumer products authority Act number 26.

Accordingly all car sales centres have to display the selling prices of vehicles to be sold. This matter was confirmed by the Chairman of the Consumer products authority Rum Marzook.

The Chairman had cautioned all sales agents of motor vehicles, lands and properties to display the price tags as inspections are to be made soon. Those who do not abide by these instructions are to be penalised.

The reason for this is as selling agents quote much higher prices than the normal price and tend to earn large profits.

The Chairman had also emphasised that in this regard that through a gazette notification on the 2011-01-07 had issued a gazette notification that in all advertisements of motor vehicles, land, properties and all consumer items in television, radio, print and all media the prices have not been indicated and the consumer products authority had received complaints from genuine customers. He also had emphasised that in the print media this rule had been adhered to for some extent and it is worst in other advertising media.
