In the vicinity of Sri Kotha there are clusters loitering to seek nominations, by looking at them alone makes one benumbed - Ajith Perera

While participating in a political discussion with the

Sirasa television channel the other day,  the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Ajit. P Perera had added that these days there are many who are loitering in and around the UNP Head Quarters, Siri Kotha to seek nominations in the forthcoming general election from the United National Party. Out of these prospective candidates there are some when looking at them one’s body becomes benumbed as they do not appear at all to possess a personality of a prospective politician to be offered nominations.

Among them are those who had served jail sentences and on suspended jail sentences, the Deputy Minister added that he was very confident that those personnel would be deprived of their expectations for sure.

He also emphasised that they may not be suspects of drugs, ethanol, abuse of women, casino and other crime cases would not be an eligibility criteria for getting nominations from the party. However the Deputy Minister quipped that all of them have to be screened properly to find out whether or not they have had connections with those related crimes.

This  the Deputy Minister emphasised is the responsibility of the party stalwarts to sort out.
