Gota files fundamental rights petition in Supreme Courts to desist from been remanded

The lawyer of the former defence secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa, Sanath Wijewardena has
filed a fundamental rights petition in Supreme Courts  to desist him from arresting. The Prime Minister Ranil Wickremasinghe and 44 others have been cited as respondents for this case.

The most likely reason that after the former defence secretary was questioned by the Bribery and Corruption unit there is likelihood that he would be arrested. The filing of the case may allow him to remain free until the Case is heard.
