Protest outside too by bringing Gammanpila, Prasanna, Samanmali, Piyasiri

The protest that was staged by UPFA parliament
MPs supporting Mahinda by remaining inside the House from last night until this morning had taken a different outlook today and had given rise to a dialogue when the parliament assembled this morning.

The MPs concerned expressed their thanks to the employees for the manner in which they were treated last night while a protest was voiced by them because of a joke made by Minister Ravi Karunanayaka about something that was brought by those who rested there last night with the MPs with the MPs  agitating over this comment made by who then had then begun to be aggressive by jumping into the centre of the House and begun shouting out. They even made a request forcibly that that statement be withdrawn. The Speaker who said that what was said by Ravi could not be heard properly and thus did not show interest in solving that issue.

A few minutes prior to that the Speaker had announced that the Director-General of the  Bribery Commission had made a promise that in future would inform  him in advance before summoning parliament MPs to the Commission and to keep everything a secret until all investigations are carried out and finished. He also stated that where the matter relating to Mahinda Rajapaksa was concerned, it had become a problematic issue as to why safeguarding the secret was not carried out.

In the meantime, the protestors who walked to the middle against the statement uttered by Ravi kept on continuing shouting and further requested a written statement asking that Mahinda being called to the Bribery Commission be stopped. At that moment the Speaker took steps to adjourn the proceedings for 15 minutes. In the meantime, on the instigation of Udaya Gammanpila and Piyasiri Wijenayaka a public demonstration had been staged by bringing in others on to the road close to the parliament. However, The Talangama Police had notified Kaduwela Courts and obtained a prohibitive order stopping the protest with the purpose of preventing  this protest causing a threat to the protection of the high security zone. It was handed over to Piyasiri Wijeynayaka by the police; but he did not make any move the protestors and because of this there had been a big traffic congestion too.
