who signed to make Dinesh Opposition Leader

This evening a group of SLFA parliamentarians conducted a media briefing saying that Nimal Siripala de Silva is not suitable to hold

the position of Opposition Leader and that Dinesh Gunawardena should be appointed instead and that he had obtained the consent of the majority. Over 60 members of parliament of the Sri Lanka Freedom Alliance had gathered for this purpose and their opinion was that the person suitable as the Opposition Leader among those in parliament at present is Mr. Dinesh Gunawardena of the Mahajana Eksath Peramuna.

Parliament Member Dallas Alahapperuma who expressed his ideas said, "This is not an attempt to give a chance to Mahajana Eksath Peramuna by grabbing a position deserved for the Sri Lanka Freedom Party. What the Sri Lanka Freedom Party is doing is not civilised politics. For the sake of a healthy democracy Dinesh Gunawardena should be appointed as the leader who has no Minister portfolio".
