Former Rupavahini Tamil announcer Kamalani Selvarajan no more

The famous Tamil announcer of the last decade in

the national television Rupavahini Kamalani Selvarajan had passed away yesterday.

It has been reported in the media that in the year 2009 she had been suddenly terminated from her service at the National television Tamil medium. As a result of her sudden retrenchment from service she had suffered a mental illness and had been under treatment and she had even lost her speech during treatment. This had been suffering from her mental health condition recently.

As known to all viewers she even participated in the ‘Ayubowan’ programmes in the Sinhalese channel and was even popular amongst the Sinhala viewers.
