A peculiar complaint to Bribery on Chandrika by Wimal
Members of Parliament Wimal Weerawansa and
Vasudeva Nanayakkara as published in the media before had lodged a complaint today on a bribery incident involving former president Chandrika Kumaratunga. It was said that the complaint to be made is on a person that cannot be believed and would be a surprise to everyone.
These two Members of Parliament had taken this complaint and handed over to the Bribery and corruption investigation unit.It has been outlined that during the tenure of the former president Chandrika Kumaratunga and other connected personnel had allowed a private company M/s John Keels’ Company an extent of 10 acres of land belonging to the ports authority to supply fuel to ships.
Although the Supreme courts had disclosed it as illegal, for seven years no action has not been taken yet.
