To commence investigations on Lasantha’s murder Mervin to CID

After the new government came into power there was a spate of complaints that were flowing into the

criminal investigations department on bribery, corruptions and also those responsible for murders.

Former Minister Mervin Silva had submitted a number of complaints on varied subjects.The authorities of the criminal investigations when they were perusing these files had opened a file pertaining to the murder of the editor of the Sunday Leader paper Lasantha Wickrematunga submitted by Mervin Silva.Mervin Silva had quoted that the former defence secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa is behind the conspiracy and charging him responsible for the murder.

To obtain a statement from Mervin Silva he has been requested to come to the CID.
