The  crucial quarter final match in the ICC world cup 2015
in the 'super 8' phase between Sri Lanka and  South Africa is scheduled to be played on the 18th at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) in Australia.

The fitness of Sri Lanka's Rangana Herath who is considered as the best finger left arm spinner today is in the balance as he had not recovered full from the split little finger on his bowling left arm he sustained while bowling in the death overs in the preliminary round match against England at Wellington,New Zealand on the 01st March.It was learnt that for the injury sustained five stiches had to be inserted.According to specialist doctors the wound has not healed properly and his 100 per cent fitness is in doubt.Skipper Angelow Mathews speaking to the media had quipped that his chances are still 50-50.

However at the final practice session on the 17th instant before the crucial game it would decided by the team's 'physio' on his complete fitness and his playing in this game would be decided on the 18th morning after a stiff practice session.

In the meantime the crictics of cricket have made their observatiions saying that a player in the mould of Rangana Herath should play in such a vital game against South Africa who possess a  very formidable batting line up in order to contain them.
