The former Sri Lankan High Commissioner in

UK Dr Chris Nonis was appointed on the 06th instant by the President Maithripala Sirisena by handing over his appointment letter as the advisor on foreign affairs in the foreign ministry. This was conveyed by the media unit of the presidential secretariat. In addition the media personnel had spelt out his service extended as a consultant physician to hospital and to civil organisations as a reputed diplomat.

Dr Chris Nonis has a tremendous track record as a reputed diplomat who via his numerous services during his tenure as the High Commissioner and prior to it as specialist cardiology consultant in UK and also had achieved numerous other feats which has brought laurels to his country as a Sri Lankan who was domiciled in the United Kingdom.

Chris Nonis had undergone his undergraduate studies in the University of London in medical science. After graduation he had entered the Cambridge University for a post graduate degree to become a consultant physician in cardiology and had practiced with a lot of distinction in a number of hospitals scattered in Britain where he was hailed profusely for his unprecedented abilities as a consultant physician in his selected field, cardiology. It is learnt that he had his proven ability in this field for a number of years was elaborated by the media personnel of the presidential secretariat during his tenure in Britain.

During his tenure as the High Commissioner De Chris Nonis had held a number of prestigious positions in civil and international organisations before joining the our UK High Commissioner’s  Office as the High Commissioner. In addition to holding several positions in organisations he has had cordial and warm goodwill relationships with the wide cross section of the business community. Through his able tactics and formidable efforts Dr Chris Nonis was able to thwart the strong efforts of the Tamil Diaspora in Britain who were desperately and constantly endeavouring to discredit our government and country as a whole via false propaganda.
