Sri Lanka moves from position 02 to position 03 in Pool ‘A’ points table of ICC world cup 2015

By virtue of the defeat to Australia in the Pool ‘A’ game, Sri Lanka has moved down to position 03 from the position 02 they held before the game in Sydney.

Both co host Australia and Sri Lanka to date have played in 05 preliminary round matches in the ongoing ICC world cup 2015 and won three matches each. However, Australia has 01 point more as they secured this point from their match against Bangladesh which was abandoned without a ball been bowled owing to rain.

Both teams have one remaining match to be played against Scotland to complete their preliminary round matches.

The 04 teams with the highest number of points in Pools ‘A’ and ’B’ after the preliminary rounds would be selected to play in the quarter finals.
