replying to Johnston's bag of items

Minister Johnston Fernando replying to a statement made by UNP parliamentarian Karu Jayasuriya recently brought a bag of goods saying that he had brought those items from Sathosa and displayed it to the camera at a media briefing and remarked that one can eat and drink well with a bag of goods of Rs. 5000. He said that the allegation made by the Opposition in respect of the shortage of the price of goods and shortage of milk powder is false. But a counter-reply was given by UNP m.p. Haren Fernando today (Feb 21),
participating in a news briefing about this answer in an exhibitive nature. What he said was that he also visited the Sathosa himself and that it was possible to purchase only a few items enough only for 4 days from Rs.5000; minus chicken and vegetables.

Haren, m.p. who too displayed this bag of goods at the media briefing said that he shows the true state of affairs by exposing the bill of purchases while Minister Johnston expressed a lie without showing any bill. He also said that according to prices of food items, it is difficult for people to exist and that people who do marketing are aware of it.
