I am not a king -- President Mahinda

Don't call me king ...
I am only a temporary guardian

Yesterday (Jan 29) was the 100th anniversary of Makandura Maha Vidyalaya and the  President  was the chief guest on the occasion. On that occasion the President said not to address him as the king and that he was only a temporary guardian. The speech he made on that occasion is as follows:

"When I came here ... these children addressed me as Beloved King. Dear children ... if you would call me Beloved Father ... I'd respect you and bless you. I am not a king. What I always say is that I am only a temporary guardian. This is the era when a revolution took place in the field of education. Even if children wrote for the scholarship and took 130, they're said to have failed and if they secure 70 marks ... they have passed. It'snot good to pressurize them mentally. They should be trained to think positively from their childhood.
