German boyfriend's Christmas gift

An incident where a 16 year old girl had consented to a secret suggestion made by a German friend of the brother of the victim and had thus spent the night in a hotel with a German national was reported from Bundala, Hambantota.

It is learnt that this German national had known the brother of this girl for sometime and had lodged in the house where this girl had been living and he had come from Germany during his year-end holidays. During this period when he had been living in this house, he had been showing an interest over the girl.

This German had suggested to the girl to go on a pleasure walk on the eve of Christmas Day and what the girl had thought was that the invitation made was with the motive of buying gifts. Later this suspect who had returned home with the girl subsequently revealed that she consented to his advances with displeasure and thus committed herself by going to bed with the German.

The German who spent the night that day with the girl had left that house the following day (Dec 26) morning. He had dropped the girl close to her home and scooted off. On questioning why she had returned home from the previous night, being scared of exposing the truth, had initially said that she had been at a friend's place.

In the process, an employee at the tourist lodge where the couple were that night had spoken to the girl's house in order to give a tip-off. It was after a few hours after the girl had returned home. The informant being a relative of the family had recognised the girl going into a room with a foreigner. Hearing this information, the mother of the girl was perplexed.

After this news, the mother had kept on questioning the daughter continuously and  in the end she had come out with the truth. It was after that that the girl's mother had complained to Tissamaharama police about the incident that her 16 year old daughter was subjected to sexual molestation on Christmas Day by this German national. It was understood that the girl was hospitalised.

The mother of the girl had further mentioned to the police that this German who had committed this crime was a friend of the victim's brother and that the German had put up at their house a few days before the incident.

By now this German national the suspect had fled the area unaware of his local friend and Tissamaharama police is conducting further inquiries in this connection.
