Tele-actress Gayesha Perera explains the reason for the basis of contesting for the forthcoming elections when she participated at the Derana Vadapitiya Rupavahini programme yesterday (Jan 29).
What she says is that when the civil war in this country was going on and when she was a small girl, when the bomb blast at Dehiwala railway
station too place, she was close to that place with her mother and that she dropped from the mother's lap. The shock that she underwent that day was removed by the President Mahinda and because of that she clasps hand with the President.
When she was explaining this episode with tears in her eyes, what announcer Chatura asked was that whether she was talking with the purpose of 'marketing tears'.
