Some people have given a wrong interpretation ...
that I am against the Facebook -- President
Sometime back what the President said in Panadura was not to pin faith on the Facebook which has become an epidemic.
Rumours spread around in various corners that the President was going to close the Facebook. The President spoke about this once more at the prize-giving ceremony held at Devi Balika Vidyalaya day-before-yesterday. What he said was that some people had misinterpreted his statement about the Facebook. The President spoke about the topic in this manner:
"Most of us tend to believe that most of our friends are found from the Facebook. I told them not to believe those who are not seen by us in the Facebook. However, those who have no affection or feeling about children of course interpreted in a wrong manner, saying that I was against the Facebook. What I think is that those people who look at us that way from a wrong angle.
We are not against international technology ... but our children should not be victims of tragedies that results from it and therefore they should be protected. It is a great responsibility that parents and we should undertake. Therefore I ask those who browse through the Facebook should pin more faith on their parents whom they see ... than whom they don't see.
