Five vehicles involved in multiple crashes
Five vehicles had crashed into each other on the Colombo - Katunayaka road around 1.15 early this morning and it was 2 motor cars and 3 vans that had been involved in this accident.
The accident had taken place because the motor vehicle which travelled in front had applied brakes suddenly and the other four vehicles which had come behind it had crashed into each other. At the time of this accident there had been heavy rain and it is believed that the accident had happened because the brakes had not functioned properly.
No deaths were reported. Police are conducting investigations into the accident. Photos from here.
