Threats to Amarasiri Peiris who went to Australia.....
Police protection at concert

    Distinguished singer Mr'Amarasiri Peiris who left the island a few days ago has had to face unanticipated harassment' Amarasiri Peiris who arrived in Sri Lanka said that Sri Lankans had organised this show had divided into two parties and had taken steps to sabotage the concert and finally had to be held amidst protection of Australian Metro police' What he said regarding the incident is as follows,

'I had 3 concerts in Australia and the birth of the second child of my daughter in Australia also took place during the same dates' It was to attend to both events that I made this trip' This was held in 3 musical shows held in Melbourne" Brisbane and Sydney'ut because of these incidents" I was shocked and disappointed' Our Sinhalese people should be more intelligent than this...specially those who are resident in that country' I know that this was done not with a motive of a personal grudge with me'
For some reason" those who organised this show divided into 2 sections' But one party had begun to disturb those who organised the show in a very disgusting manner' There were instances of threatening" destruction and several other disruptive action' My son)in)law too had been threatened in particular..saying ~If Amarasiri Peiris comes... there may be some danger' Actually I wasn-t frightened of it...' because those games played here cannot be played there' But everybody at my daughter~s place was scared' Ultimately" all concerts took place amidst full police protection'

What I repeat is that such incidents should not take place' Such things are not conducive to our country...specially in such a civilized country we should show that we are a people of a more civilized country,'
