'BALAYA, JAWAYA, SHAKTHIYA' AND KNIFE ATTACK

Because of 'balaya, jawaya, shakthiya' .... knife attack!

This incident was reported yesterday from a rented house close to Millenium Park in Aturugiriya. The occupants of this house are a popular tele-actress who had separated from her lover as a consequence of a romantic problem and had started living together with a father of 2 children who had made an alliance with her. From the day the daughter had left the house on annoyance and had gone to live separately, the father of this girl who was mentally agonised over this issue had somehow managed to find out the address of this rented house
and had gone there yesterday to see his daughter, may be because of paternal affection. But what happened was something totally unanticipated. The father who came to see the daughter was treated with a knife-blow. 'You can't take the daughter away ... let us live here ... we know what things have been done!'; so shouting, the father had to face an assault with a knife instead of seeing the face of his daughter and thus collapsed on the floor. It is reported that because of injuries sustained to the face and head, he is now hospitalised.

Because of 'power, spirit and strength' it ended in an unfortunate fate.

Is that what is expected from this kind of rendevouz? Is this not the decline of honour and respect attached to paternity in society? Can we forget the qualities of a father and we recall to memory the song sung by Deepika Priyadarshini.

Pithu senehe pidu piyaku nomethi lowa
Doo daruwang hinahee ethido
Unge sitha rendi thaniya makannata
Mawunata kawada hekiweido

Hiru mandalak se kirana bedaadee
Nuga sewanak se sisila sadaadee
Jeewithaye bara urin daraa
Piyawarumai lowa maha sayurak wee
Lowama niwaalanne

Meth muditha guna sithehi daraa
Perum puraa ena sasara puraa
Ammawaru mathu buduwanne
E wiwarana denne
