Doctor who attacked Law Faculty Head in Mental Hospital
Deputy Director of Hospital, Dr.Lionel Mohamdiramge mentioned that the suspect who cut and injured Mrs.Yashodara Kadiragamathambi, Head of Faculty of Law of Open University has been sent to Angoda Mental Hospital.
The suspect who is supposed to have cut and injured Mrs.Kadiragamathambi was initially admitted to Kalubowila Hospital for having taken sleeping pills.
It was reported that he had been sent to the Mental Hospital for the purpose of checking his mental condition and that his health condition has now come back to normal. The Head of the Faculty who was injured and was at the ICU has now been transferred to a ward. However, because she had faced severe injuries and treatment for injuries are necessary, her discharge from the hospital maybe delayed.
In the meantime, Chief Magistrate and Addl.Judge Mr.Ajith M.Masingha of Nugegoda courts yesterday ordered Mirihana police to take into custody the hard disk of the computer used by the suspect Law student and to be sent to the Technology Department of the University of Moratuwa and to forward a report. This order was given on a request made by Mirihana police to grant permission to obtain a report by sending the hard-disk to the Technology Department of the University of Moratuwa as it may contain information relating to the incident which could facilitate matters in investigations conducted in the future because the suspect has used the computer (laptop) and had deleted information in it before the incident took place.
