"We of course will go"
eleven of them say so
Ashley de Silva, President of Sri Lanka Cricket said that apart from Akila Dananjaya and Nuwan Kulasekera who lost the opportunity of playing in the IPL because of untoward reactions of Tamil Nadu and Dinesh Chandimal who refused to go, the rest of the 11 players had consented to play for the IPL.
The uncertainty whether the will maintain the respect of Sri Lanka or think of their money was something that occupied the minds of cricketing fans during the past few days. What the Minister had said was that though the amount would not be so much as the IPL, if they decide not to go, they would be able to pay the Sri Lankan salary.
In the meantime, the fact that Chandimal rejected the Tournament was subject to commendation among most, 11 of the others decided otherwise. They are Lasith Malinga, Thillekeratna Dilshan, Kumar Sangakkara, Mahela Jayawardena, Ajantha Mendis, Angelo Matthews, Thisara Perera, Mutthiah Muralidaran, Jeevan Mendis, Kusal Janith and Sachitra Senanayake.
They are scheduled to leave Sri Lanka in another few more hours to participate in the Tournament commencing on the 3rd. However, the President further says that they have advised the participant players to avoid Chennai during the tour.
