THILAN SAMARAWEERA QUITS SRI LANKA CRICKET

After the money contract conflict he had decided to quit Sri Lanka cricket through frustration:

Owing to the difference of opinions about the contract fees conflict there is a definite tendency for our standards of cricket to come down from it stood.
The senior cricketer had notified the Sri Lankan Cricket authorities in writing that he has decided to quit from his cricketing career. The Secretary to the SLC Nishantha Ranatunga had accepted his letter and acknowledged it after he had made known about it to the selection committee.
It was known that before the Bangladeshi tour of Sri Lanka he had made this decision. He was selected only as a substitute for Mahela. It is learnt that he has taken this decision when the conflict about player contract subject was going on.
