KACHCHERI FIRE UPDATES (VIDEO)

It is learnt that documents that were on the first floor and the ground floor have been destroyed to a great extent. The fire fighting units have managed to stop the fire spreading to adjoining areas. They have deployed water from 10 bowsers for this exercise. The destruction of the documents however could not be prevented.
According to the Colombo’s District Secretary Kamal Padmasiri the reason for the fire to break out is yet unknown. He also had quipped he cannot assess what are the documents that have been destroyed by the fire.
A large number of people has thronged to the Dam street area to watch this unfortunate incident which could be viewed from the ITN video BELOW

At this moment it is reported that a fire had broke out inside the Kachcheri premises at Dam Street. It is learnt that fire fighting units have been deployed to bring the fire under control. The news has been reported to the Gossiplanka news web site.
Owing to this fire it is learnt that there is a severe traffic block along Dam Street. The Police sources had revealed that certain important documents may have been destroyed by the fire. This is however not confirmed officially.
