“Marlon who has died in Welikada clash isn’t my ex-husband”

Anusha Sonali calls Gossip Lanka

There was a prisoner who had been sentenced to death named Malinda Nilendra Pelpola  alias Marlon among the people who had died from the clash at Welikada prison on Friday. Many media published that it was one of actress Anusha Sonali’s ex-husband and thus Anusha Sonali called Gossip Lanka to clarify that he has not been one of her legal husbands. Moreover, she has stated that she was once married to him but that wasn’t a legal marriage.
She stated that he had been married to another woman three months before their marriage and that he had tried to marry her using a false name and therefore her marriage was not legal. Therefore, she points out that it is wrong to publish rumours using her name in media. She also points out that he had been married to a Sister attached to the Asiri Surgical hospital and that he is a father of her child. Thus, nurse’s name should be published instead of using her name.
The following is an extract from what Anusha Sonali’s telephone call to Gossip Lanka:
“Anusha speaking here. … He had been married when he got married to me. He has been using two names, he was Malinda Nilendra Pelpola to me but he has been using Marlon Menaka Pelpola. I knew him as Marlon Menka pelpola and he told me that he was divorced. Therefore the marriage is not valid. Thus we were separated for more than  over 10 years. His wife’s name is Nayana Lakmali Pelpola. She is a Sister and she is working in Surgical Unit at Asiri Hospital. She is with a baby. We didn’t have any kind of connection. He was happily married and then only he has been imprisoned.”
