RELIGIOUS WORSHIP IN THE TOILET

The strange story our President who had to go to a toilet to worship:

It was reported in a newspaper that our President had to go into a toilet in search of a Buddha statue to worship while on an official tour of Italy. This was a true incident that happened to our President while in Italy.
It had been a practice and habit of the President to worship Lord Buddha After offering flowers only he commences his days work. On one morning after he got up and after he had a wash had asked the Embassy officials where is the ‘shrine’ room for him to worship and offer flowers. All Embassy officials were embarrassed including the Ambassador himself to show him the place where the Buddha statue was kept.
The reason was that in Rome within the Embassy premises the Buddha statue as places in a corner in the washroom not even prominently displayed. The person who escorted the President to the toilet as the one who was most embarrassed.
This incident was first published in a newspaper in Sri Lanka although the Sri Lankans in Rome had denied such an incident to have taken place. However in complete contrast Ven Dambadeniye Dharmarama Thera had vouched that the incident was absolutely true and he regretted for keeping the Lord Buddha’s statue in a washroom.
