The viewers from Galle and Kandy who said that Rs 2500/-is enough to survive

Half of the viewers (2/4) who called Derana TV debate between Ravi Karunanayake and Bandula Gunawardane said that Rs 2500/- is enough for them to survive. The viewers who represent the people of Sri Lanka expressed their opinions as below:

“I am watching Wada Pitiya…I want to tell the minister and the parliamentarian Ravi Karunanayake to visit villages and to find out…. We feel that a person can survive from Rs 2500/- per month…. I can make a list and show you that…. 500gm of rice is enough for a person for all three meals.”

“This is regarding the question of Rs 2500/- I am talking to Ravi Karunananayke… I would like to tell that poor people like us live with Rs 2500/- a month… we consume about 35kilos of rice and it cost us about Rs7700/-… we buy about 2 kilos of onions 2kg of potatoes…. When we calculate the expenses of Rs 2500/- is enough for a person.”
