NATURAL GAS WELL IN CHILAW

When a well was dug and a natural gas well had emerged and found:

It was reported that a tube well was dug ina village in Chilaw area. Instead of water they have found that it is a Gas well.
This surprising event had taken place in the property of Chandrasheelan Palraj at Akkarayankotuwa,  Chilaw.
They have wanted to dig a tube well, after they have dug about 50 feet and they have stopped digging it when they have smelt and had got a strange smell. Since they have guessed it to be some kind of a gas, they had lit it with a lighter. Then they have discovered it to be gas as the flame has emerged lit up for everyone’s surprise.
Such an incident was reported from Munneshwaram kovil around three years ago. A natural gas well was found in the Kovil premises from a tube well three years ago.
