The death of a youth at an Avurudu festival
The mess was created by the villagers who took the death body to the suspects’ house at Galnewa.

It is reported that the villagers of Galnewa had taken the dead body of a youth near the house of the suspects of the murder after seeing that the police had not taken any action regarding their complaint.
 These villagers who have taken the coffin of the dead youth had tried to hurt the suspects’ family members and to damage their houses. The reason behind these actions had been the death of a youth who had died after someone had hit him with a wooden bar at an Avurudu festival at Makulewa, Galnewa.
The suspects who have been selling liquor in the area had attacked the youth after exchanging some harsh words and he had been admitted to the Colombo General Hospital. He had died afterwards.
It is reported that the villagers had got angry since no action had been taken against the suspects.
