TV “DOCTOR” PRAVEEN JAYAMAHA CAUGHT

The New “Sakwithi” was caught. He was well known because of his public presence and media had outmaneuvered Sakwithi.

A person who had been present at the public as a doctor known as Praveen Jayamaha had been caught by the police. He had been present prominently to the public through media in the television and through newspapers articles. He had been caught as a fraud since he had been writing for a weekly newspaper as Director of the Department of Child and Adolescence Mental Health and Nutrition and as a Professor in Psychiatry. 
He had been caught when he had tried to use 5 lacks to make fake certificates to enter a child to Dharmaraja College, in Kandy.  He had forged the signatures of the Director of National schools and also of the Presidential Secretary and it also has revealed that he is connected to many crimes and frauds.
There had been many fake identity cards was with him when he was caught and searched. Among them were the identity cards of the University of Peradeniya as a Senior Lecturer, the identity card as a Veterinarian from England and an identity card to prove his citizenship in England.
It has revealed that he had been a monk at the age of 19 years of age and he had disrobed after 4 years and then he had got married to a woman from Kandy. However he had been present as a bachelor and he had been in relationships with 8 women and he had raped them and had escaped. Numerous complaints have been reported in the Police against him by women including teachers, nurses and even school students.
His main method of earning at the beginning had been by conducting English classes in the same manner as Sakwithi Ranasinghe. He has chosen several places in Kandy for his classes and it had been his habit to escape constantly, once he has collected enough money.
At the beginning he had conducted English courses at schools and then later on he had started conducting classes at different institutions. He had done classes at ‘Subodharamaya’ at Gannoruwa and at a place called “City Campus” near a cinema hall in Peradeniya.
Then he had conducted English courses in Kandy Nursing hospital and he had conducted lectures at Vision International School, Cambridge University and at Educare. He had also done lectures at Kurunegala hospital, Kurunegala Siripathi School, Wilgamuwa, Handungamuwa, and at Ambathenna Pushpadhana School.
Later on instead of his teaching he had stepped into medicine. He had presented himself as a doctor in the media. In order to be popular he had got the support of the media and he had started to write to a newspaper with the least knowledge in medicine.
At present he is writing to a National Women’s magazine under the name Praveen Jayamaha, as a psychiatrist and he had presented at TV programmes on health care and through that popularity he had been admitting students to schools with fake documents.
He had been caught when he had tried to admit a student to Dharmaraja College,Kandy through fake documents.
Kandy police is carrying further investigations on his crimes and deceptions.
