Addressing the launch of the Trilingual initiative in Colombo which was launched for the 10 year National Action Plan and declaration of the year 2012 as the year of Trilingual Sri Lanka.
Because this occasion was specifically organised with regard to speaking of three languages fluently, Dr Kalam commenced his speech appropriately in our National Sinhala language. He had written a few words of Sinhala in English and made a short speech to the amusement of the audience, who no wonder were pleased and proud about his gesture.
