President is yet to speak to us-Bharatha’s’ sister

About the Duminda-Bharatha incident it appears that government is taking the side of M.P. Duminda Silva.The President is yet to speak with his family members revealed Bharatha’s sister in a sarcastic manner. She had been interviewed by the BBC’s ‘Sandesaya’ programme. His sister living in Canada had accused the Government for not replying to her letters. Regarding the threats she had informed the Government had failed to take any steps. The interview was as follows:
Why are you saying you are not happy with the investigations?
I saw that Lakshman Hulugalle had said that Duminda Silva is not a suspect to this incident. We cannot expect an impartial inquiry to our younger brothers killing. Duminda Silva is working as an advisor at the Ministry of Defence office. He is backed by higher officials of the Defence Ministry. How could one go to that spot with so much of arms to kill or for what.
How many of Bharatha’s a body guards have been taken into custody?
No one has been arrested. So many of his supporters were killed.
Bharatha is an advisor to the President. Why have you’ll not spoken to him?
President or any other Minister has not spoken to us to convey sympathies.
However the President did come to the Jawatta official residence to pay his last respects?
Yes, The President did come to the Jawatta official residence, but my brother’s wife was in a state of shock was not in a position to speak to him. This killing had been planned for some time, may be a few months. A contract had been given to the underworld. The CID had revealed all information from the underworld criminal. We made a plea in writing to the President and Ministers to tighten his security. He has had only 3 body guards and one of them was unarmed. One was a Police officer. The one without arms had left.
Now the President and the media Ministry say he had been given sufficient security to Bharatha. We requested to give more security. We requested to increase the security from 2 to 6.After I wrote a letter I asked what happened to our request. He said Duminda’s security had been increased to 14.At least they were not bothered to reply to my letter. Because of that I say that SLFP should take responsibility to my brother’s killing.
