One kilometre long pictures to be drawn by students of 110 Western Province schools
To coincide with ‘Worlds Tourism Day”, which falls tomorrow, Tuesday the 27th, in close proximity to the Beira Lake, plans have already been made to make this area a ‘Tourist Paradise’.
This area has been named as “ROAD TO PARADISE” and it extends from Uttarananda Mawatha up to Perahera Mawatha. To celebrate this day the students of schools in the Western Province as instructed have already begun drawing these pictures one kilometre in length.
It is learnt that about 2000 students from 110 schools in the Western Province have been entrusted with this task. From an individual school 30 feet length of this picture has been allocated to be drawn and had been given instructions to complete by Tuesday. The ‘theme’ of the pictures is to draw visualising how pretty and beautiful the Colombo city would look like after development.
