A monk who sat the G.C.E. (Ordinary Level) examination as a private candidate in Sinhala medium has received the results of another candidate who had sat in Tamil medium:
In this year’s Ordinary Level Examination results as in the Advanced Level results which arose severe criticism certain similar discrepancies have already been brought to light.
A Buddhist monk from the Herassgala Sri Dharmodaya temple, in Pilimatalawa, Ven. Pannarathana thera who had sat as a private candidate has revealed that his results has been bungled.
His index number had been 10039492 and when his results were checked in the internet, the results were that of a student who had sat in the Tamil medium, by name Glasankiya Irudayaraja.
Accordingly Ven.Pannarathana thera is perturbed for been terribly inconvenienced. The authorities of the Department of Examinations should explain whether it is computer error or whether incorrect data had been fed in to the results sheet.
