During interrogations of the arrested residents of the Mahainduruwa area, aged 32 and 33, a lot of information about this murder plot has been revealed. This attack was planned as revenge for the death of 'Podi Pati', also known as the brother of the organized criminal Loku Pati, who was shot dead in Ahungalla on the first of last month. Their target was four close associates connected to Karandeniya Sudda and Kosgoda Sujee.
This crime was planned to be executed for a contract of ten million rupees (one million LKR) under the direction of Loku Pati of Ahungalla and Sanjeewa of Ahungalla. Investigations have further revealed that they had meticulously planned to enter the house where the targeted individuals were staying, which was very close to the place where the suspects were arrested, by posing as police officers, shoot everyone inside, and then launch a bomb attack before fleeing.
