An open verdict has been delivered regarding the suspicious death of popular model Ms. Chula Padmendra Kumarapathirana, and steps have been taken to refer her body parts to the Government Analyst for further investigations. Residing in the Boralesgamuwa area, she was found dead on a bed in a businessman's house located on Gangaramaya Road, Thumbolila, Piliyandala.

According to medical reports, Piliyandala Police state that no external or internal injuries were found on her body.




Police preliminary investigations have revealed that after an event organized by her at a hotel in Battaramulla, the deceased model arrived at this house in Piliyandala with the said businessman around 5:00 AM on the 31st. Later, when she went to sleep face down in a room, attempts to wake her up around 12:45 PM that day received no response. Seeing bloodstains on the pillow and bedsheets where she was sleeping, the businessman called the 1990 Suwa Seriya ambulance service.

After the health staff who arrived there examined her and confirmed she was deceased,



Both the businessman and the mother of the deceased model have lodged complaints with the Piliyandala Police regarding this matter. After reporting the incident to the Kesbewa Magistrate's Court, Acting Magistrate Ms. Sunethra Perera conducted an on-site inspection and a body examination. According to the Magistrate's order, a post-mortem examination was conducted by the Judicial Medical Officer at Kalubowila Hospital, and Piliyandala Police are conducting further investigations.
