Matara Chief Magistrate Chathura Dissanayake has ordered that four individuals, who were arrested while forcibly abducting a nine-year-old boy with the intention of obtaining a treasure in the Telijjawila, Algiriya area, be remanded until the 9th of this month. Those remanded are a three-wheel driver from the Telijjawila area, his friend, and two residents from the Hulandawa Watta area in Pitabeddara.

When the child was alone at home, his eyes and mouth were tied with cloth strips, and he was taken towards the dense jungle near the house. Hearing the child's screams at that moment, residents pursued the suspects and, with police assistance, managed to apprehend them.
