A famous Panadura businessman kidnapped and abandoned in a cemetery.

A prominent businessman, who was mysteriously abducted last night (29) in the Panadura area, has been found abandoned near the Minuwampitiya public cemetery. It is reported that the businessman, who had been subjected to a mob attack, has now been admitted to the Panadura Base Hospital for further treatment.

This crime occurred in the Panadura, Walana, Mahanama Mawatha area. The businessman, along with his wife and two daughters, was traveling home in a car around 10:00 PM when he faced this abduction. As they were approaching their home, an unknown group in another car chased after them. In an attempt to ensure their safety, the businessman tried to drive the vehicle without stopping, and at that moment, the car lost control and overturned into a ditch beside the road.

Subsequently, the unknown gang that arrived there smashed the windows of the businessman's car, dragged him out, and severely assaulted him. Police investigations have revealed that he was then forcibly taken into their vehicle and fled. However, while the businessman's two daughters were unharmed in this unfortunate incident, his wife sustained injuries and has been admitted to the Panadura Base Hospital for treatment. It is also reported that the businessman's car suffered extensive damage due to the attack.

Preliminary police investigations have already revealed that this abduction was planned and executed by a relative of the businessman himself. Panadura South Police and Panadura Divisional Crime Scene Investigation officers have jointly launched extensive investigations to immediately apprehend the suspects involved in the incident.
