According to information submitted by relatives to the app, 12,000 people are missing in Nepal.

A special mobile application called 'Setu Rapid' has been implemented to connect relief workers operating in flood-affected areas of Nepal, operational control centers, and drivers of vehicles deployed in the field via a live map. The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority, operating under the Ministry of Home Affairs of that country, along with the Department of Roads, have jointly taken steps to create this 'Setu' system and mobile application.

As of yesterday, Friday the 28th, at noon, 1,567 individuals have submitted relief applications through this application with the aim of finding information about their missing loved ones. Meanwhile, officials from the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority state that through these requests, information and details of approximately 12,000 individuals reported as missing have been collected in the system.

Among those registered as missing through these forms, relief teams have so far only been able to successfully re-establish communication and contact with 144 individuals. However, details for most people are still unavailable. No other mechanism has yet been established to record missing persons, and according to reports from the country's media via various government sources, only 626 deaths have been confirmed so far, and the number of missing persons is stated as only 2400. Reports indicate that these statistics could significantly increase.
