Jaffna Police have succeeded in apprehending a ruthless gang of five, involved in a brutal incident where a youth was forcibly abducted, stripped naked, and inhumanely tortured in Jaffna city, along with sharp swords and drugs. It has been revealed that this youth, who was near Jaffna Hindu College on the 5th, was forcibly abducted by this group.
The abducted youth was taken to a secret location, stripped naked, and subjected to extremely inhumane torture. Subsequently, the youth, who was severely injured due to the torture, was brought and left near Jaffna Bosco School, and the gang fled from there. Acting immediately on intelligence received, police officers located the injured youth and arranged for him to undergo a medical examination.
Meanwhile, police officers on duty observed a car driving at high speed and suspiciously. Although the police signaled it to stop, the car continued without heeding the orders. A police team pursued it, surrounded it, and managed to arrest the five suspects inside. Police suspect this car belongs to a leading business company in Jaffna.
Two sharp swords, used for planned sword attacks, and 2.5 grams of 'Ice' drug were found in the possession of the arrested suspects. Notably, clear bloodstains were observed on the doors and seats of the raided car, and a blood-stained garment found inside was also taken into police custody.
Extensive investigations into this incident are continuously being carried out by the Jaffna Crime Prevention Unit under the direct supervision of the Jaffna Headquarters Police Inspector.
