Advisory notices on hot weather for six districts

The Department of Irrigation informs farmers and all other parties to use water sparingly.

This is due to the upcoming El Niño forecasts.

H.M.P.S.D. Herath, Director of Water Management at the Department of Irrigation, stated that 80 reservoirs currently have a water capacity of approximately 48%.

The Department of Meteorology states that the heat felt by the human body in the Mullaitivu, Vavuniya, Batticaloa, Ampara, Trincomalee, and Monaragala districts is at a level that requires attention.

This is by issuing a cautionary notice regarding the hot weather.

The Department of Meteorology informs the public to be vigilant in this regard.
