Fifteen-year-old Indian youth cricket star Vaibhav Suriyawanshi is set to make his debut for the Indian senior national cricket team. This talented batsman, who has also been named for the series against Ireland and England, as well as the Asian Games, is currently wearing his first Indian national cricket team jersey and has emotionally stated that he has been dreaming of this moment for a long time.

Suriyawanshi, who performed exceptionally well representing the Rajasthan Royals in this year's Indian Premier League (IPL) tournament, won the 'Orange Cap' award by scoring 776 runs as the highest run-scorer in the tournament. He showcased his batting prowess to the world by recording one century and five half-centuries in that tournament. He also made a significant contribution to the victory of the Indian 'A' team by scoring the fastest half-century in a List A match off just 11 balls in the final of the triangular series against the Sri Lanka 'A' team.

As shown in a video released by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), Suriyawanshi, commenting on receiving his national team jersey with his name and number 03, stated that he had been waiting for this opportunity since the first day he held a cricket bat, and that the feeling is indescribable. Suriyawanshi now has the opportunity to become the youngest Indian player to enter the international cricket arena, surpassing Sachin Tendulkar's record as India's youngest player to earn an international Test cap at 16 years and 205 days in 1989.

The Indian squad, led by Shreyas Iyer, is scheduled to depart from Chennai International Airport on June 26. They are set to participate in two T20 matches against Ireland, and five T20 matches and three One Day Internationals against England. However, all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy, who suffered an injury before the tournament, had to withdraw from the squad. In his place, the selection committee has called up 23-year-old Mumbai player Suryansh Shejwal, who has performed well in domestic tournaments and for the Indian 'A' team, to the national squad.
