Former SriLankan CEO Kapila Chandrasena commits suicide

Police sources report that Kapila Chandrasena was not present when authorities went to arrest him at his Barnes Place residence, and his body was later found in a house in Kollupitiya.

Currently, the death is reported as a suicide, but it is reported that further investigations into the incident are required.

The body of Mr. Kapila Chandrasena, former CEO of SriLankan Airlines, has been found in a house in Kollupitiya.

He had been released on bail in connection with the controversial Airbus deal case, and yesterday the court had ordered his re-arrest due to a bail-related issue.

He was the one who had revealed special evidence regarding Mahinda Rajapaksa's acceptance of bribes. Police confirmed that Mr. Kapila Chandrasena was found suspiciously dead at his residence in Kollupitiya.
