Two new coaches for Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka Cricket has appointed two new coaches with the aim of improving the performance of all national teams, including the national men's team. Accordingly, Ryan van Niekerk has been named as the National Bowling Coach and Jordan Gregory as the Spin Bowling and Fielding Coach.




Ryan van Niekerk is an experienced coach who previously served as the bowling coach and interim head coach for the Netherlands national team from 2023 to 2026. Under his new responsibility, he will primarily be tasked with developing fast bowling across all national teams, including the Sri Lanka national men's team. His services were instrumental in preparing the Netherlands team for tournaments such as the ICC Men's World Cup 2023, ICC T20 World Cup 2024, and 2026, and this experience will be valuable in his new role. His appointment is for a period of two years, effective from April 15, 2026.

Meanwhile, Jordan Gregory has also been appointed as the national-level Spin Bowling and Fielding Coach. He has worked as a fielding consultant with the Netherlands Cricket Board and will be responsible for fielding and spin bowling training for all national teams under Sri Lanka's High-Performance Centre. Gregory's services have been associated with the Netherlands team for various international and bilateral tournaments, including the ICC T20 World Cup 2023. His appointment is also for a period of two years, effective from April 15, 2026.
