Former President Ranil Wickremesinghe has extended his heartfelt gratitude to all the people and well-wishers who inquired about his well-being during his recent illness. Issuing a special statement, he pointed out that the love and blessings received from the people during this difficult time were a great strength for his speedy recovery.

The statement further states that upon hearing the news of his illness, a large number of people wished him a speedy recovery through phone calls and various messages. The former President also mentioned that he highly appreciates the all-religious programs and offerings organized by people from all over the island, praying for his good health.

He emphasizes that this immense affection and the actions shown by the Sri Lankan people towards him gave him great courage to recover quickly from his illness. Mr. Ranil Wickremesinghe, stating that he is well aware that the United National Party supporters, in particular, took every possible step for him, once again expresses his profound gratitude for the exceptional interest and care shown by all of them.
