Mr. Naveen Dissanayake, Deputy Leader of the United National Party, has expressed his strong displeasure regarding the launch ceremony of the latest book titled 'Finding the Mastermind of the Easter Attack,' authored by Member of Parliament Udaya Gammanpila, and the political representatives who participated in it. He has stated this by issuing a special message through his 'X' (formerly Twitter) social media account.
Mr. Dissanayake points out that he is deeply saddened by the participation of Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa, Talatha Atukorale, and Sagala Ratnayaka in the launch event of this book. Accusing Mr. Gammanpila's work of being solely written with the aim of whitewashing the Rajapaksas, he also emphasized in the relevant social media post that he is very pleased about not participating in such an event.
Mr. Naveen Dissanayake states that although this book was launched claiming to reveal the true mastermind of the Easter Sunday terrorist attack to society, it actually only contains the name of Zahran, who had already been named by the Special Presidential Commission of Inquiry appointed to investigate the attack. Considering all these facts, he further states that the launch ceremony of the said book should have taken place on April 1st, which is April Fool's Day.
