A Royal College student in Colombo fell from the school building and is hospitalized.

A fifteen-year-old school student studying at Royal College, Colombo, has fallen from a three-story building of the college, sustaining serious injuries and being hospitalized, according to Kurunduwatta Police. The child who faced this unfortunate incident is a resident of Hokandara area.




According to information revealed through police investigations, this accident occurred yesterday (11) around 7:15 AM. The relevant classroom on the upper floor was closed at that time because other students had left to join the motorcade organized in conjunction with the annual cricket big match scheduled to be held today between S. Thomas' College and Royal College.

The student had attempted to enter the closed classroom through a window. Police state that while trying to enter the building with his school bag on his shoulder, his foot suddenly slipped, causing him to fall to the ground. Furthermore, investigations have confirmed that a branch of a tree located near the upper floor of the building also broke off and fell down along with the student.




The student, who was severely injured in the accident, was immediately rushed to the Colombo National Hospital, and sources confirm that he is currently receiving further treatment in the hospital's intensive care unit. A senior police officer stated that statements were recorded from the college principal, teachers, and several other students regarding this incident. Additionally, crime scene investigation officers also visited the school and further examined the relevant location.
